The late ’90s were a great time for sci-fi films, and one of the highlights of that era was Lost in Space from 1998. Based on the 1965 series of the same name, the cult-classic movie directed by Stephen Hopkins is getting a Special Edition 4K Blu-ray release from Arrow Video that is available to preorder now for $38 ahead of its launch on September 2.

The Lost in Space Special Edition 4K Blu-ray includes a brand-new 4K restoration of the film created from the original camera negatives approved by director Stephen Hopkins, plus a long list of bonus materials, including several all-new interviews exclsuive to this new Special Edition. The case features a reversible sleeve with the original theatrical poster on one side, and newly commissioned artwork on the other. The set comes with an illustrated collector’s booklet featuring film critic Neil Sinyard, articles from American Cinematographer, and an excerpt from the original production notes.
