With the upcoming Pokémon Presents livestream taking place in less than a day, it would be a given to think that Pokémon Legends: Z-A would be at the top of everyone’s minds. Not so, given a recent series of posts.

These posts by the Pokémon Company on X seemed to convince many fans of the existence of remakes for two of the series’ most defining entries, FireRed and LeafGreen.

The posts are all focused on the event’s pre-show hosted by DJ Pikachu, and gained a lot of attention by way of his glasses, which seem to be inspired by the mentioned titles. Although the leaf-themed pair had already been revealed, Pikachu’s new FireRed-inspired look and their countdown style were, for many, the definitive hint of the existence of the rumored remakes.

Keep in mind that the presentation has been confirmed to be 24 minutes long, which further increases the possibility of huge reveals. Less hopeful fans, however, have pointed out on social media that Pikachu’s glasses might instead be hinting at the addition of the two GBA titles to the Switch Online Game Boy Advance lineup.

Apart from the near guarantee that news regarding Z-A will be revealed, other series like Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, Sleep, Unite, and even GO are also highly likely to be present during the July 22 livestream. It would also not be a stretch to expect to see some Pokémon Champions! as well, as very little is currently known about the battle-focused entry.

The July 22, 2025 Pokémon Presents livestream will take place at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET. You can catch it on The Official Pokémon YouTube channel. The pre-show, featuring DJ Pikachu, will start an hour early, although we still don’t know if this will be exclusive to the Japanese broadcast, available via the Pokémon JP YouTube Channel. One thing I know for sure is that, no matter in which form, being able to play the Red and Green re-releases on newer hardware would be a welcome surprise.
