DK in Donkey Kong Bananza, standing next to a Banandium Gem in Bramble Country

Bramble Country is a challenge level in Donkey Kong Bananza that continues one of the game’s patterns: Sticking one Banandium Gem in an easy-to-miss but hard-to-reach spot. This one is slightly more devious than the other challenge levels, though. You can’t use your hand slap sonar to show where it’s hiding.

In this Donkey Kong Bananza guide, we’ll show you where to find all bananas in Bramble Country.

Bramble Country location in Donkey Kong Bananza

The Bramble Country Ancient Ruin is in Bellhop Burb in the Forest Layer (SL600). Fast travel to the village’s tuning fork, turn left, and have Pauline sing to open the ruin. This one has no Bananza form requirements, so you can just head on in when you’re ready.

How to get all Bramble Country Banandium Gems

The first and third of Bramble Country’s Banandium Gems are unmissable, as you run into them halfway through the course and at the end, respectively. The second banana is tucked away behind some brambles just past the halfway point in a spot that takes a bit of observation and good timing to reach.

It’s in the middle of the barrel cannon challenge that follows the course’s midpoint, after you clear the thorn pillars. To get it, do the following:

  1. Hop into the first cannon, and fire DK into the upper left diagonal barrel.
  2. Do that again, firing towards the top left through the stone.
  3. You’ll see a stationary barrel to the bottom left now that’s aimed downward. Press ZL to exit the cannon, and move left so you fall into the stationary barrel. This barrel will automatically shoot you toward another lower barrel.
  4. Blast yourself back to the hidden room, and collect the banana.

The rest of the course is comparatively straightforward. The cannon in the secret room drops you at the end of that particular obstacle course. Angle yourself to the upper left, fire when it’s safe, and smash down through the stone pillar to carry on. The route to the end of Bramble Country is linear after this, minus a few little detours for extra gold if you want it, so just follow the path to the end, where you’ll find the final Banandium Gem.
