There are 15 key characters you meet throughout Tales of the Shire, and these are the ones you need to interact with on a regular basis. As the storyline progresses, you’ll occasionally meet some other individuals, but none of them are as interactive as the townsfolk.

Orlo Proudfoot | Wanders all around the Shire delivering mail, so check the map to find his current location. Luckily, he’s the first villager you meet, so you don’t have to put in any additional work to unlock him. |

Sandyman | Almost always sticks around Sandyman’s Mill, tending his shop near the northwestern end of the map, slightly behind The Green Dragon. |

At nighttime, most villagers either head home or visit one of the two local hangouts. This includes The Green Dragon and The Ivy Bush Inn, both of which are in The Village Square. If you’re looking for someone in the evening, these two spots are the best places to check.

Around half of the townsfolk stick to tending their shops each day, so finding them is fairly easy once you’re familiar with the right spots. If you’re looking for specific items you can buy from these characters, here are all of the villagers who run shops and what you can get from each one.
