type soul clan tier list

Clans in Type Soul are much more impactful now that they grant unique abilities so they can complement and synergize with your Shikai/Res/Schrift/Fullbring. Each race Soul Reaper, Quincy, Hollow and Fullbringer has their own clan list and special bonuses and note that clans can be rerolled. For the best clans, here’s my Type Soul Clan tier list.

Best Clans in Type Soul

Below you’ll find a Type Soul clan tier list of the best clans in the game. While starting stats aren’t negligible I focused more on the power of each clan’s special ability for the rankings. Clans for all races are randomly assigned to you when you create a slot. Currently, only Mythical (1% spawn chance) and Legendary clans (3% spawn chance) give you bonuses so those are the ones I’ll be rating for each race. Common clans have an overwhelming 96% spawn chance but unfortunately they don’t give any buffs so I’ll skip those.

S-Tier Clans

S-Tier Clans Stats & Abilities Ranking Reason
Ubuginu
Fullbringer
Mythical 1%
Stats: 6% Increased mode duration, 8 Posture, 20 HP, 10 Reiatsu.
Ability: Dealing a certain amount of damage without being hit makes your next skill cost 0 Reiatsu.
• Has both great stats with the mode duration increase and an OP ability.
• You have to practice dodging and parrying so it’s a high-skill high-reward ability that will dominate players as you get better at the game.
Parnkgjas
Quincy
Legendary 3%
Stats: 5 HP, 5 Posture, 10 Reiatsu, 3% Increased Mode Duration.
Ability: After 3 skills used, refresh one of the three skills’ cooldown completely.
• Similar to Ubuginu but is more random since you don’t get to choose which skill gets 0 cost.
• That said, you can limit what 3 skills you use so pick the best ones and you’ll either get lucky and get the one you want or the second-best option.
Shihouin
Shinigami
Mythical 1%
Stats: 20 HP, 20 Reiatsu, 15 Posture.
Ability: Your flashsteps are much faster.
• Just a simple high stat clan with with excellent mobility for both traversal and combat.
Hyosube
Shinigami
Legendary 3%
Stats: 5 HP, 3 Posture, 3 Reiatsu, 3% Increased Mode Duration.
Ability: Throw out a wave of ink out of your hands, if landed on anyone, it censors half their name and their Reiatsu regeneration is reduced by 50%.
• While Ikomikidomoe has a similar ability I prefer Hyosube because you can reduce Reiatsu regen on command.
• It’s the best way to gain an edge on skill economy and usually more Reitatsu means you win as long as you’re parrying/dodging well.
Ikomikidomoe
Hollow
Mythical 1%
Stats: 15 HP, 10 Posture, 5 Reiatsu, 5% Increased Mode Duration.
Ability: When someone deals 150 damage to you, their Reiatsu regeneration is reduced and their healing is halved.
• The less reliable version of Hyosube clan skill however the anti-heal is incredibly powerful.
• You just have to take damage which isn’t ideal since you can’t choose when to activate it but the raw power and the low damage requirement still makes this S-Tier.
Ishida
Quincy
Mythical 1%
Stats: 10 HP, 10 Posture, 5% Increased Mode Duration, 5% Increased Letzt Duration.
Ability: When you run out of Reiatsu, you get a 10% Reiatsu pack. Has a high cooldown.
• Best stats among Quincy clan and while the ability isn’t OP it’s incredibly useful.
• It encourages spamming skills as long as you land them and then getting a small boost back when you hit 0 to continue going.
Du
Quincy
Legendary 3%
Stats: 5 Posture, 5 Reiatsu.
Ability: 10% chance to negate 80% of incoming damage.
• Bad stats but an incredibly strong ability that can tank the most powerful skills in the game.
• The 10% is for any damage source so you can block both attacks and skills as well.
Ginjo
Fullbringer
Legendary 3%
Stats: 15% Increased mode duration, 15 Posture, 15 HP.
Ability: When hitting a player you steal their Reiatsu with the amount depending on how much they currently have.
• Some of the best mode duration increase for any Clan.
• S-Tier for aggressive players since the more attacks you land the more Reiatsu you steal.
• Use Feints to avoid getting parried.
Orihime
Fullbringer
Legendary 3%
Stats: 10 Reiatsu, 5 HP.
Ability: When you drop to 0 HP you ignore death once and heal over time.
• Similar to Du where the stats aren’t that good but the ability is amazing.
• The free revive means you can go into a combo and ignore death which can catch your opponent off guard as you keep swinging.

A-Tier Clans

A-Tier Clans Stats & Abilities Ranking Reason
Sozosei
Shinigami
Mythical 1%
Stats: 10 HP, 8 Posture, 10 Reiatsu, 5% Increased Mode Duration, 7% Increased Vizard Duration.
Ability: Getting hit by the same attack two times will trigger you to adapt to it and will have increased defenses against that attack for the next 5 minutes.
• While it’s a powerful ability it’s only OP against beginners who focus on one move.
• Experienced players will barrage you with different attacks and skills.
• Still even in those scenarios the Sozosei Clan can get quite tanky as the fight progresses.
Kurosaki
Quincy
Mythical 1%
Stats: 15HP, 5 Posture, 15 Reiatsu, 10% Increased Letzt Duration.
Ability: When below 50% Reiatsu, you gain a glowing blue aura and slight buffs.
• Similar to Ishida the Kurosaki clan encourages spamming skills to reach that 50% Reiatsu and staying below it for the buffs.
• Rewards aggression just like Ginjo.
Tsukishima
Fullbringer
Legendary 3%
Stats: 9% Increased mode duration, 5 Posture, 5 Reiatsu, 15 HP.
Ability: Each time you deal a certain amount of damage to someone, you make them forget a random toolbar move in their inventory for some time.
• This can either be broken OP if you get lucky and silence a powerful skill, mid, or not that useful.
• It all depends on which skill you silence so it’s an RNG clan.
Valkyrie
Quincy
Legendary 3%
Stats: 10 HP, 15 Posture, 5% Increased Mode Duration.
Ability: +50% defense penetration when below 50% HP and +5% defense when below 50% Reiatsu.
• While I generally don’t like clans that activate something when you get damaged or drop to a certain threshold Valkyrie’s defense penetration is really good.
• And that defense buff is decent and adds up the more HP you have.
Jaegerjaquez
Hollow
Legendary 3%
Stats: 15 HP, 15 Posture, 5 Reiatsu.
Ability: Howl and gain a slight speed and damage boost.
• Overall a useful buff that’s easy to use.
• It’s not S-Tier because the boost isn’t that high.
Urahara
Shinigami
Legendary 3%
Stats: 15 HP, 5 Posture, 5 Reiatsu, 3% Increased Mode Duration.
Ability: Sacrifice HP/Blood for a little speed boost and Reiatsu pack.
• If you get really good at parrying and dodging this becomes S-Tier.
• It basically allows you to use your HP as a second Reiatsu bar if you’re doing good in a fight to keep the aggression going with more skills.
• If you’re not doing good or getting overwhelmed in ganks it’s not the best.
Starrk (Hollow) & Shutara (Shinigami)
Legendary 3%
Starrk
• Stats: 15 HP, 15 Posture, 5 Reiatsu, 3% Increased Mode Duration.
• Ability: Slightly raised all Cero scalings.

Shutara
• Stats: 20 HP, 10 Posture, 15 Reiatsu.
• Ability: The more Kido points you have, the slightly higher Reiatsu regeneation you get.

• Starkk and Shutara are quite similar in that they focus on ranged skill trees so if you want a build around that they’re pretty good.
• Otherwise they’re not the best since you have to focus on their niches for them to be worth it.

B-Tier Clans

B-Tier Clans Stats & Abilities Ranking Reason
Louisenbairn
Hollow
Legendary 3%
Stats: 15 HP, 5 Posture, 15 Reiatsu.
Ability: +5 Hierro. If Hierro variant, then no extra Hierro but you get +2.5% defense.
• Very situationally Clan for a specific build.
• The 2.5% defense isn’t anything special but it adds up and is overall useful.
Zaraki
Shinigami
Legendary 3%
Stats: 15 HP, 15 Posture, 5 Reiatsu.
Ability: People you attack have a longer combat tag duration and you gain more damage the longer you are under a combat tag up to max +5%.
• Same as Louisenbairn but for damage.
• It’s slow to ramp up and reach that 5% damage which isn’t much but it’s still overall useful for any build.
Le Vaar
Quincy
Legendary 3%
Stats: 10 HP, 15 Posture, 20 Reiatsu.
Ability: Dying doesn’t give anyone a health pack and the more combat tags you have on you, the more defense you have.
• Great anti-gank clan.
• I rated it lower since I’m not getting ganked that much as I’m playing with friends but if you’re playing solo or in a duo this is excellent.
• Note that teammate combat tags don’t count.
Cifer
Hollow
Legendary 3%
Stats: 15 HP, 15 Reiatsu, 3% Increased Mode Duration.
Ability: Bala gets a higher cooldown but now it autotracks.
• Bala is pretty good but if you’ve practiced landing it then you won’t need Cifer that much.
• This is more of a beginner clan than anything else.
Sado
Fullbringer
Legendary 3%
Stats: 10 Posture, 15 HP, 5 Reiatsu.
Ability: Regenerate Posture overtime.
• Decent but you want to learn to parry and dodge attacks as you get better and not block that much.

C-Tier Clans

C-Tier Clans Stats & Abilities Ranking Reason
Michibane
Fullbringer
Legendary 3%
Stats: 7% Increased mode duration, 25 HP, 20 Reiatsu.
Ability: When someone in your party gets knocked, you get a speed and damage boost for a minute.
• Basically you have no Clan until someone in your team drops which isn’t useful at all.
• Becomes okay when someone falls but until that point this Clan is useless.
Odelschwanck
Quincy
Legendary 3%
Stats: 20 HP, 15 Posture, 20 Reiatsu.
Ability: Activate to see where everyone is on the map through red highlights but it doesn’t show you their name. Has a CD.
• Useful only to see incoming ganks or catch fleeing enemies but at the end of the day you can have a much more powerful clan than this.
Tsunayashiro
Shinigami
Legendary 3%
Stats: 25 HP, 15 Posture, 15 Reiatsu
Ability: Can briefly see the Reiatsu of everyone around you for 5s.
• Info is useful but this clan is really weak except for the great stats that it gives.
