Minecraft’s classic look can be massively upgraded if you know how to use the Vibrant Visuals feature. It’s a great way to enhance your game without using any mods, although it can be a bit tricky to turn on.
Vibrant Visuals weren’t always a key feature available in Minecraft, so there’s a chance you aren’t familiar with them. It’s a great feature to know how to use if you’re looking for a visual upgrade, so here’s how to turn on Vibrant Visuals in Minecraft.

How to use Vibrant Visuals in Minecraft Bedrock Edition

You can activate Vibrant Visuals by navigating to the Experiments page in the world setting and toggling them on. It’s an officially released feature as of the June 17, 2025, update, but it’s still listed under Experiments, likely because it’s not available on all versions of Minecraft yet.
If you want to turn them on in a world you made before the update, you need to load the world, open settings, find the Game page under the World tab, and scroll down until you find the Vibrant Visuals toggle. It’s in a different place if you use this method, but it’s called the same thing and applies the same effect. While you’re looking for this feature, make sure the player locator bar is turned on too, so you can have a much easier time tracking down your friends around the vast world.
Since it’s technically still classified as an experimental feature, you can’t earn achievements in any world you turn this feature on in. This will likely be changed in a future update once Vibrant Visuals is fully rolled out across all versions of Minecraft.
What is Vibrant Visuals in Minecraft?
Vibrant Visuals is essentially a visual graphics upgrade for Minecraft. It’s an actual game feature rather than a mod, which is what most players used to enhance the look of the game prior to the Chase the Skies update.
All of the graphic changes featured in this visual upgrade are subtle and blend well with the game’s style, so if you still want the game to look and feel like Minecraft, you don’t have to worry too much about anything changing massively. It’s just a set of overall visual improvements designed to make the game look better.

Some of the visual changes featured in this visual overhaul include sun rays shining down across the world, blocks casting shadows, light casting down through windows, and reflections in water. There’s plenty more to it, and all of these changes are small on their own but work together to enhance the overall experience.
Can you use Vibrant Visuals in Minecraft Java Edition?
As of June 17, 2025, Vibrant Visuals aren’t available for Java Edition yet. The Chase the Skies update only launched Vibrant Visuals for Bedrock Edition, so to experience this feature, you must play this specific version of Minecraft.
When will Vibrant Visuals come to Minecraft Java Edition?
There’s no official timeline or information about when Vibrant Visuals will be added to Java Edition so far. Based on a blog shared on April 16, 2025, this update is still quite a way off from being released.
Vibrant Visuals will go through several Snapshot versions for Java Edition before it’s officially added to the game. Since there have been no preview versions released so far, it’s likely still undergoing work and won’t be added anytime soon. The earliest I could see it being added, based on what we currently know, is late 2025, but it could also not be available until 2026, depending on how long the development process takes.
There’s plenty more to do in Minecraft while you wait, so if you’re not sure what to try next, consider riding a Happy Ghast, defeating the Creaking, and building some epic houses.
