Happy Monday, trainers, with Go Fest 2025: Global behind us, I wanted to use this time to ask how everyone did during the event, and how many Shiny Pokémon did you catch over the weekend in Pokémon Go?
In truth, I didn’t catch that many as I wasn’t really that focused on Go Fest Global as much as I’d like. I was only after certain Pokémon like Skiddo, Torkoal, and a few others I needed for my Shiny living ‘dex, and apart from a singular Snover and Vullaby, I was able to get a lot of my targets.
Granted, one look at social media, and it seems like a lot of trainers are bemoaning the sheer lack of Shiny Pokémon at this year’s event. A problem that appears to be a yearly focus at this point. I didn’t have that problem myself and was able to catch around 40 Shiny Pokémon throughout the weekend, even though I wasn’t checking every encounter. I think I lost around 30 Shiny Pokémon to Go Plus + as well.
In the end, I played most of Saturday and then did a half day on Sunday after getting most of the things I needed. Shoutout to the one guy I randomly approached in a park in the middle of England who traded a Shiny Skiddo for a spare Shiny Frigibax I had. You are the real trainer MVP of the weekend.
For those of you who went into the weekend trying to find specific Shiny Pokémon like me, or trying to find Shiny versions of Zacian and Zamazenta with the borders. How did you fare?
