Killing Floor 3 has a pretty robust crafting system in place for the players to explore, and you can make different mods to customize the guns in your armory.
Every Perk has signature weapons to use, and they can be upgraded with the help of mods. However, the mods require resources to craft them in the first place. The easiest way to get crafting materials is from zeds. However, every zed drops only specific types of this, so let’s take a look at how to obtain all of them.
Table of contents
How to get all crafting materials in Killing Floor 3?
Crafting Material | How to get | How to use |
---|---|---|
Bio Sample | Drops from Husks, Sirens, Kiosks, Satcoms, and Gorefasts | Used in Ammo Pourches, Grips, and Magazines |
Bio Steel | Drops from Gorefasts, Husks, Sirens, Kiosks, and Satcoms | Used in Barrels, Baldes, Pommels, Receivers, and Sights |
Chemical Agent | Drops from Cysts, Clots, and Crawlers | Used in Ammos, Coatings, and Underbarrel attachments |
Electrical Parts | Drops from Clots, Gorefasts, Cameras, Loud Speakers, and Power Walls | Used in Barrels, Receivers, and Sights |
Gray matter | Drops from Bloats, Husks, and Sirens | Used in Ammos, Ammo Pouches, Coatings, Grips, Magazines, and Underbarrel attachments |
Ichor | Drops from Chimera, Impaler, and Queen Crawler | All level 3 weapon mod upgrades |
Scrap Metal | Drops from Clots, Gorefasts, Cameras, Loud Speakers, and Power Walls | Used in Blades, Pommels, and Receivers |
Zed Tech | Drops from Scrakes and Fleshpounds | All level 2 weapon mod upgrades |
Crafting materials drop randomly; killing a zed doesn’t guarantee a drop. The only exception to this rule, in my observation, is boss enemies like Chimeras, Impalers, and Queen Crawlers. You will always obtain Ichor from defeating them, but the quantity can vary.
How to craft mods in Killing Floor 3?
Once you have enough crafting materials in your inventory, go to the Armory.

- Choose a weapon you want to mod.
- Select the weapon part you want to mod.
- You’ll find the set of available options that you can craft.
- If you have the required amount of crafting materials for that particular part, you can add it to your inventory.
That’s how easy it is to craft different items in Killing Floor 3. You can also apply your created mods and save the customized loadouts to use them in a round. Do note that mods raise the acquisition cost of that gun, so you should balance any new additions.
