Murray’s Costume Manor in Secret of the Mimic is lost in time, a freeze-frame of those who came and went, and others who were left behind like a forgotten memory. Distorted voices from neglected inventions echo across the facility, where audio logs tightly hold onto the Murray family story, keeping their dreams and despair alive forever.
But the Mimic can steal the voice of whoever it hears, so what can you really trust in the abandoned Costume Manor? The voice acting truly brings Edwin and the Mimic’s tale to life, where we can connect and relate to their tragic story, and be fully immersed in the words shared by each Murray family member. Horror is delivered through the uncanniness of Murray’s inventions, creating an uncomfortable feeling like something isn’t quite right. The comforting words of Fiona are enough to continue pressing onwards, but every other voice screams at you to run from the Manor as fast as you can.
A small cast tackling multiple characters at once, the Secret of the Mimic voice actors set the bar high for future FNAF games. What’s super cool is that Edwin, Fiona, and David are voiced by a real family.
