Good news for those who were excited to hear about (and indeed to hear) the new Reflection ringtone hidden in the first iOS 26 developer beta: it’s now available to try out.
The second beta, which dropped this week, contains a few noteworthy tidbits. Among these, surprisingly, was the apparent confirmation that we’re going to get an ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air in the fall, and a number of significant changes, including the availability of a new ringtone.
If you’re running the second beta, open the Settings app and go to Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone. You’ll see that there are now two entries listed under Reflection: “Default” (the old version launched with the iPhone X) and “Alt 1.” The latter is the filename spotted in the first beta, and could be changed to something more polished in a later beta.
You can listen to the new ringtone in the audio file below:
But 9to5Mac will do you one better: the site has a video capture of the updated selection screen with the ringtone playing. It’s a very pleasing melody and we think many iPhone users will want to give it a try. If you’d like to, here’s how to join Apple’s beta program.
