Dead by Daylight, an online-only game, can suffer from network and connection issues from time to time. If you have a feeling that DBD‘s servers might be down, here’s how you can check the game’s server status and ensure it’s not an issue on your end.
Are Dead by Daylight’s servers down right now?
As of 6/30, Dead by Daylight‘s servers do not appear to be offline. However, with the new Twisted Masquerade event and an uptick in player count, there could be some server instability.
Users online have been reporting that they’ve been prevented from logging into the game, but that doesn’t seem to be as prevalent as of yet. Events like these, and any major increase in concurrent players, can and will sometimes bring the servers down, though this is usually a temporary issue.
How to check DBD server status?

Unfortunately, Dead by Daylight‘s developer, Behaviour Interactive, does not host an official server check-up service, disallowing people from checking in with an official source. However, services like downdetector do the job just right and aggregate user reports of any massive network issues that usually explain whatever issue you may be facing.
Keep in mind that sometimes connection problems aren’t on the game’s side but yours, so here’s what you can do to make sure everything is up and running if downdetector doesn’t indicate any underlying issue:
- Restart your router.
- Launch the game as administrator and allow it through your Firewall.
- If you’re using a VPN, try shifting the servers around or disconnecting it altogether.
- Check your Ethernet cable connection.
- Contact your ISP.
This is by no means an exhaustive list of steps you can take, but will usually lead to some kind of resolution to whatever network issue you may be facing at the moment.
