Pokémon Sleep has announced a new “Expert Mode” that’ll take your sleeping to the next level. But how on earth can you put a difficulty scaling on people’s sleeping habits?
The announcement comes from within the game’s News tab, which announces it as a new feature while giving information on what players can expect.
By reaching a Master 18 rating on Greengrass Isle, players will immediately gain access to the new mode that’ll make leveling up your Snorlax while you’re sleeping that much harder. To make matters worse, this mode isn’t even free.
By using an item known as an Expert Ticket that can be purchased with cash or exchanged for 200 Sleep Points, you’ll gain access to the new mode, where various changes to the game will try to make leveling up and getting Pokémon with certain Sleep Styles that much harder. Some of the changes include:
- Snorlax’s favorite Berries for the week will be divided into one main favorite and two sub-favorites.
- Pokémon that don’t gather any of Snorlax’s weekly favorite Berries will receive a penalty, so choosing a team around its favorite berry is vital to making the most out of the mode.
- One additional bonus related to raising Snorlax will be selected at random every week.
- You get an expert bonus instead of an area bonus, whatever that means.
As for rewards you can obtain by taking part in the mode, the Pokémon team is still in the process of developing what they might offer when the mode is implemented at an undisclosed date. Some of the proposed awards include the following:
- The amount of Drowsy Power required to see Pokémon sleep styles will greatly increase.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Pokémon.
- Exclusive weekly missions will be added.
- The kinds of Pokémon that appear on Greengrass Isle in expert mode can differ from those that normally appear on Greengrass Isle.
- Increased chance to encounter certain Special Pokémon.
- Raikou will have an increased appearance rate in Greengrass Isle (Expert.)
So there you have it, for those hard sleepers out there that want to take on a bigger challenge, you have a new Expert Mode to take on.
