Guozi Robotics last week said it has delivered an intelligent production and logistics system for TZ Group’s greenfield factory. The companies said nearly 200 robots of diverse types now automate the entire excavator production process and the logistics network.
TZ said the go-live eliminated some of its long-standing pains by automating each step of production to final shipment. This included high-mix/low-volume production and limited flexibility.
Guozi mobile robots serve multiple sites
Guozi Robotics has developed mobile robots for logistics and manufacturing. Its robots are equipped with full-scenario intelligent navigation, multi-agent dispatching, flexible collaboration, and interaction capabilities.
The Hangzhou, China-based company claimed that it has provided robots to more than 1,000 customers in 20 different countries. Guozi said its heavy-duty robot family, ANTS, and picking robots have already driven the smart production in lighthouse factories for Zoomlion, XCMG, and Sany worldwide.
Earlier this year, Guozi and Staples Inc. celebrated the ninth year of their strategic partnership. The two companies have signed two strategic cooperation agreements, and Guozi has supplied Staples with over 1,000 robots.
TZ Group deploys collaborative ecosystem
Guozi deployed a number of technologies at TZ Group’s facility. This included mobile robot swarms that execute precise transfers using dynamic path planning.
It also installed a matrix of gantry robots, collaborative robots, turnover units, and other custom devices to perform complex, high-mix operations without retooling delays. Finally, Guozi installed contact-free power rails that it said guarantee 24/7 uptime for TZ.
The project runs on Guozi’s self-developed Line-Side Control System (LCS) and manufacturing execution system (MES). Guozi said this enables easier data integration between shop-floor devices and plant management.
Guozi said the three-dimensional distribution network does the following at TZ:
- Classifies materials as large, medium, small, and standard parts.
- ANTS lift automated guided vehicles (AGVs), Picking multi-layer robots, and heavy-duty carriers automatically interface with racks, pallets, and bins.
- Guozi’s AI-driven robot control system (RCS) coordinates hundreds of AGVs with centimeter-level accuracy, supports multiple call-for-parts modes, and pairs dynamic storage with smart picking—offering end-to-end visibility from warehouse to workstation.
