On Record challenge tips in Phasmophobia
Although this isn’t one of the absolute toughest trials you can face in Phasmophobia, it can certainly still be a tricky one to get done, so here are some tips to help you through it.
Play with friends
Alone, any challenge mode can feel quite daunting, but with even just one additional ghost hunter at your side, the odds of survival and success are much higher. Team up with friends or match with random ghost hunters to work on this trial together. Bleasdale Farmhouse is decently large, so it’s much easier to investigate with some allies helping you out.
Start with an equipment pile
The trek between the front door and the truck that has all the equipment is decently long, so consider starting by bringing all the items you want to use over to the front door. Gather them into an equipment pile that you can more easily access as the round progresses.
You’ve only got a one-minute grace period in this one, so there’s not much guaranteed safe time before the ghost can technically hunt. As long as you don’t open the front door while gathering these items, this grace period won’t start, so you can sneakily buy yourself back some time later on by using this method.
Use the Sound Recorder
Although using the Sound Recorder may not actually help you get closer to finishing this trial, I still recommend focusing on this feature here. There’s no better time and place to familiarize yourself with this item than a challenge mode where you have nothing to lose. Record sound evidence as you go to increase your cash and XP loadout at the end, while also learning how to effectively use this tool.

Use your Crucifixes
You’ve got two Crucifixes in this trial, and you should absolutely use both of them for protection. Once you find the ghost room, get them placed down around the area as quickly as possible to protect yourself from potential ghost hunts.
Don’t give up
Challenge modes are the best time to push yourself and build your ghost-hunting skills since there’s nothing to lose. If you’re struggling with the On Record trial, just give it your all and keep at it until you get it done.
The nature of Phasmophobia means some matches will just be harder than others, as there’s a lot of RNG involved in what ghost you get, when they choose to present evidence, and so on. Because of this, it’s always worth making an educated guess and trying again when you end up stuck. This trial is really doable if you keep at it and do your absolute best to identify the ghost.
