A man has been arrested after police say he stole more than $10,000 worth of Nintendo Switch games from multiple public libraries in Northern California.
The Marin County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that it arrested 45-year-old Oakland man Jamal Reed-Obafumi on June 17, alleging that he was “connected to a string of at least seven different burglaries of Marin County Libraries.”
Police say the man stole around $10,000 worth of Switch video games between April and June 2025 from various area library branches. According to police, he faces 12 felony charges, which include “multiple counts of burglary and committing a felony while out on bail.”
