It’s not The Witcher 4, but a newly announced Witcher board game three years in the making will explore one of the most important moments in the franchise’s lore in detail: the Pogrom at Kaer Morhen.

Called The Witcher: Legacy, the board game from Go On Board is a sequel to The Witcher: Old World and will focus heavily on the destruction of the School of the Wolf, where Geralt was raised as a Witcher. It’s one of the major pieces of history in the world of the Witcher books and games, an event where a mob of angry peasants stormed Kaer Morhen and killed nearly everyone inside, nearly wiping out the last remaining Witcher school.

Story will be a big part of The Witcher: Legacy, and Go On Board said in a statement on its Gamefound page that it is working closely with CD Projekt Red on both the game’s gameplay and its narrative.
