Pokémon has been such a versatile franchise, starting out as a trading card game and bringing about several movies and animated series, but its variety when it comes to games has also been pretty spectacular.

The mainline entries have evolved from the handhelds like Gameboy and Nintendo 3DS, now to consoles such as GameCube and soon the Switch 2, and the series has changed with it. From 2D to 3D to fully open worlds, there’s been no shortage of new things to look forward to.

And then there are massively successful spin-off titles and mobile games like Pokémon GO, Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Stadium, and many others throughout the past 30 or so years. There’s seemingly something for everybody, regardless of age or gaming taste. There are even digital versions of the card game!
