Of all of the advances in modern technology for gaming, one of the most interesting to me is a platform’s ability to track the amount of hours you’ve played.

This is both a blessing and a horror story, because it’s cool to look at sometimes and boast “look how much I played this game I love,” but the other side of the coin is the realization of “wow, look how much time I actually spent on this video game.’

For me, my most recent time sink is Destiny 2. I have over 1,774 hours logged on the game on Steam, but that’s just part of it because I used to play on Battle.net before it migrated. But that’s just a part of the story.

When powering on my PS5, I found that Destiny 1 is actually my biggest and most shocking game. I last played it seven years ago, I have the Platinum trophy, and a whopping 5,417 hours played in the few years it was my main game before Destiny 2 came out in 2017. How is that even possible?

I shudder to think about games from my childhood and young adulthood that I played a horrifying amount of, like SOCOM II: US Navy SEALs, or Left 4 Dead, but I also have no real shame in any of this because the time I spent was mostly with friends, forming bonds and just having a good time.

To find your time played on Steam, navigate to Profile, All Recently Played, All Games, and then sort by Playtime. It can also be done in other ways on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, so I’m very curious to see what everyone’s top game is and how many hours you’ve spent on it.

Hop into the comments below, post your screenshots, or just let us know what your top title is.
