To complete The Haunting of Beast’s Castle quest, you need to return to the Beauty and the Beast Realm and help Lumiere and Cogsworth investigate what’s going on. It’s a fairly complex process, so here’s a full breakdown of all key quest steps to help you through it.
Return to the Beauty and the Beast Realm
Head back to the Beauty and the Beast Realm to get started. You can access this area by traveling through the door marked with a rose on the third level of the Dream Castle. You can also teleport there right away from the map to bypass the extra travel time.
Find a servant to learn what’s going on
Head straight up the castle steps, make a left, proceed down the hallway overlooking the courtyard, and make a right to enter the library. Approach Lumiere near the fireplace and chat with him about what’s going on.
Search the hidden passage for the Fireplace Fuel ingredients
The castle is shrouded in darkness, so Lumiere tasks you with making some Fireplace Fuel to brighten things up. From where Lumiere is standing, turn right to enter the hidden passage area. Once you’re inside, look for the sparkles on the ground right by the stove to find the items you need.
Fireplace Fuel recipe
There are three items you need to make Fireplace Fuel:
- Three Castle Canola
- One Castle Paper
- One Castle Softwood
All of these items can be grabbed from inside the storage container next to the stove. Interact with the stove once you have the items you need and select the Fireplace Fuel recipe to cook it. You’ll only throw in the Canola, but the other two items must be passed over to Lumiere with it to get some light. Chat with him again after giving him the Fireplace Fuel.
Catch the flying painting
There’s a strange painting on the loose, so your next task is to find and catch it. The flying painting wanders randomly throughout the castle halls, so head out into the hallway and look up a bit to start searching for it. This item never stops moving and is decently fast, so consider eating some food to get a healthy gliding boost.
